A Television Speaker Made For Voices

I’m tired of asking my wife what’s going on while I’m watching TV…the problem is I can’t hear what the actors are saying clearly and have a hard time hearing their voice. It’s like Columbo’s always mumbling. I can hear everything else but when I bring the TV volume up, it just makes all the other sounds  louder and doesn’t help me understand anything better. It’s not just me…my younger friends have the same problem..so I went to the Jensen Sound engineers to design a solution and they created the Original Dialogue Loudspeaker.

The Original Dialogue Loudspeaker is a self contained speaker, the amplifer and volume control is built into the speaker itself so you don’t need to buy anything else. It connects to your TV’s audio outputs or any product with an output..you could plug it into your cable box or DVD player..but it works best for TV listening. You can decide where to place it..next to the TV or to get the best results..right next to your favorite chair. The 25′ cable makes sure you have plenty of length to run around your room or carpet.

Simply turn the volume control clockwise for your personal taste. You may find that the volume is actually lower than you would normally be listening to in your room..and that will make a lot of folks in that room a lot happier. The reason that it works that way is that Jensen analyzed the sound characteristics of the voice and created a speaker that best reproduces and enhances those frequencies. Higher frequencies that normally make up noises that could be distractions are not produced, and the end result is that even though you’re turning the sound up…the sound overall seems softer.

Now..if you’re thinking that this really just started in the last few years, it may be because only recently have the TV stations been able to send out all the six channels that make up the Surround Sound soundtracks that  most programs have today. Of the six channels, only one dialogue channel that carries the main voices battles against the other five “effects” channels. In essence, the voices get buried in the mix… unless you have a Dolby Digital home theater receiver and six speakers costing hundreds of dollars that can accurately separate each channel. That’s pretty costly for all the TV’s throughout the house. The Original Dialogue Loudspeaker solves that problem at a very attractive price.

Could you use any amplified speaker to enhance TV sound?  Absolutely..but it would not work as well. Since most speakers are meant for music, they are “full range” and will reproduce everything..including the noises..that the Dialogue de-emphasizes.

And the TV listening headphone devices work well but sometimes you want to be social and not seal yourself away from the rest of the folks in the room…being more friendly never hurts.

I’m going back and watching the old Columbo shows. Now with the Dialogue Loudspeaker, since I’ll hear all the clues..there’s got to be at least one mystery that I can figure out before my wife does.

Then again…maybe not.

The Original Dialogue Loudspeaker is sold exclusively by FirstStreet and is not sold in stores.
